Stunning Aurora Borealis from Space

In the actuality, NASA captures video (in HD and 4K) of the Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis which come from space permit us to see a beautiful and a really amazing video which doesn't stop to make the buzz.

Produced by the channel of the NASA Harmonic, the video was realized with time-lapse, a technique consisting in filming by decreasing the cadence of shooting to accelerate the movement in the projection.

The polar auroras are visible most of the time in the highest latitudes, close to poles (the North and the South). They don't depend on the human activity, but on that of the Sun and on the ground magnetic field.

The video was realized while the ISS overflew our planet at more than 400 kilometers in height. The international Space station, the crew of which dedicates itself essentially to the scientific research in spatial environment, moves in approximately 28 800 kph, and thus carries out a complete tour of our planet in 90 minutes approximately.
